Hello, All!

Today started out like any other day, up at the crack of dawn for Biology II class.  After class, as per usual, I headed to the gym.  I had a great workout, that I feel I should share :)

First, I started out with 15 minutes on the elliptical.  Since I go everyday, I alternate between 15-30 minutes to warm up and the rest of the time there on weights.  Today, I did mainly arm work with just a few reps on the leg press.  My arm routine:

3x15 alternating curls : fully extend your arm and bring it up to a little less than a 45 degree angle.

3x15 front and lateral raises : start with your arms at your side; front- bring out your arms straight in front of you , parallel with the floor, and then return to sides. lateral- same idea, just take arms out to your side!

3x15 kickbacks : lean over on a bench, bring elbow parallel to the ceiling and then extend arms backwards.

It's a very simple routine but a word of advice; start out with a light weight (I started with a couple 5 pounders) until you get the form down pat.  While the front and lateral raises sound simple, using too heavy of a weight will
1. wear you down SOOOO much quicker, causing for a less fulfilling workout,
2. ruin your form, causing the workout to become defective.

While I am still in a long journey of weight loss and fitness, working out so hardcore really makes me feel so much better.  11lbs down, a lifetime to go :)

Winding down now with my boyfriend, our sweet pup, and movies!

Until next time, America!
